Choreographer: Bosmat Nossan
Performed by Ensemble Batsheva
In the piece, I use two subwoofers. Inside each one there is a cone that moves back and forth. When it moves forward, it compresses the air. When it moves backward, it pulls the air. At low frequencies and high amplitudes, this motion moves larger volumes of air, causing the fabric placed over the speaker to respond physically. The cloth acts like a membrane, resonating and making sound visible.
